ALTERNATE PAST

Terms of Use

Effective September 2, 2026

1. What Alternate Past is

Alternate Past is a playful, fictional what-if history experience. It provides generated videos, timelines, and discussion prompts for entertainment, traffic, and historical conversation. It is not a news organization, historical authority, forecasting service, educational credential, or source of professional advice.

2. Fiction and accuracy

Our scenarios intentionally depart from recorded history. Generated material may contain errors, invented details, anachronisms, or interpretations with which you disagree. Do not treat a dispatch as real footage, a real report, or a factual account of events.

3. Accounts

You are responsible for the account you use and for keeping access to it secure. You must provide accurate information and may not use the service to impersonate another person, mislead others, or evade safety controls.

4. Purchases

Paid dispatches are digital goods generated after checkout. Prices are shown before payment. A successful payment authorizes one requested paid generation subject to availability and applicable content controls. If a generation fails, we will make a reasonable effort to provide a replacement or refund the purchase.

5. Acceptable use

You may not use the service to create unlawful, abusive, deceptive, defamatory, sexually exploitative, or dangerous material; to impersonate living people deceptively; to fabricate evidence; or to infringe another person's rights. We may refuse or remove a request that violates these rules.

6. Generated content

Generated videos may include provider attribution, provenance metadata, and branding. You may not remove or obscure that attribution. You are responsible for reviewing a dispatch before sharing it and for making its fictional and AI-generated nature clear.

7. Intellectual property

You retain rights you have in your own prompts and materials. Alternate Past owns its site, brand, interface, original writing, and templates. Generated outputs may not be unique and may be subject to the rights and terms of the underlying generation provider. You are responsible for ensuring that your input and use of an output are lawful.

8. No warranties

The service is provided as available. We do not promise uninterrupted access, historical accuracy, or that every requested generation will be available. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Alternate Past is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from use of the service.
